I cooked breakfast for
Marc, Elena, and I went to the farmer's market downtown. I carried Elena in the backpack from
After that I packed a picnic lunch, packed up the Duckie, picked up my Mom at noon, then met Marc out at Dwyer Memorial Park (aka Little York Lake Park) to watch dog agility trials. Mom's work buddy Debbie was there but the dog she had entered to compete couldn't be there.
Anyway, we had a grand time eating, playing with Elena, playing in the creek, talking, watching Elena have fun, and eating more. Mom and I stayed until almost 3:30 pm. In the car on the way back, Elena started having a hissy so we had to stop to see what was wrong. We just happened to stop at an icecream stand so Mom and I had cones while Elena sampled Momma-milk. By the time we got back to Mom's, Elena had once again had enough of the carseat.
My D.C. bother and his partner were at Mom's so I stayed there for the evening. Elena went down for a nap soon after we arrived so I ran back to the apartment to get Jesse's copy of Elena's formal pictures. The Duckie participated at dinner at Mom's for the first time. She has plain mashed potatoes while the rest of us had grilled chicken breast, roasted corn on the cob, and a tomato/cucumber/motzarella salad. I expect a screaming fit at midnight but Elena had a blast.
After dinner Mom suggested dessert at the Blue Frog. Mom, Elena, my step-dad, and I ended up being the only ones of the family to make it down but that was fine.
