Yesterday for dinner we had turkey wraps with lettuce, basil, and sage right out of the garden accompanied by a spicy couscous salad. Marc was watching me make the salad and made a face at me when I used a bare drop of hotsauce in the dressing. He later admitted that even though the dressing went on a lot of couscous, he could definitely taste the hot sauce. The sauce, by the way, is "Dave's Insanity Sauce."

My coworker is in today so I don't have to do everything for myself. I even saved an issue from yesterday for him.

This morning I got the living room set up for the heat wave. I made a section of the futon into a changing station by laying down a waterproof pad covered by a receiving blanket. I put diapers and whipes on the endtable. I took one of Elena's mattress protectors downstairs so she can have naked baby butt time (that pad is waterproof too). I also dug up a few washclothes that can be gotten wet then given to Elena to play with. I also set a fan to blow the cool air from the air conditioner further into the living room. Then I wrote notes about everything so both Marc and Mom know what everything is for. With the cosleeper Marc set up yesterday, nobody should have to spend any time upstairs.

Sunday I had to take the frog mobile off of Elena's crib. I was downstairs cleaning while she was supposed to be napping and I hear *sproingRATTLEgiggle* a couple of times over the baby monitor. I went up and caught her just as she was releasing a frog. She could reach the frogs by pushing her chest up while on her tummy and stretching her left arm up. I'm going to have to put a hook in the ceiling for dangling the mobile up higher.

This morning I moved Ferocious outside. Elena got her patties on the cactus yesterday but fortunately didn't get any spikes in her hands. I also cut back one of the plants out there and used a couple of clipping to propogate a new one. I looked up the sentimental plant, inspired by a comment from [info]keptwench, and it is a philodendron. I'm going to get something for it to climb.

Friday is my podiatrist appointment then I have next week off for vacation.
